Kevin Douglass is a shareholder in Babst Calland’s Litigation, Energy and Natural Resources, and Emerging Technologies groups. Mr. Douglass is a complex commercial litigator with significant trial experience. In addition, he is a certified mediator and has served as an arbitrator in commercial and oil and gas disputes.  Mr. Douglass represents natural gas and coal clients in litigation and administrative proceedings involving landowner lease title and nuisance disputes, joint venture issues, mine subsidence, zoning, construction, and municipal ordinances. For many years, he served as editor of the Firm’s Babst Calland Report, an annual publication covering events and issues of interest to the energy industry. Mr. Douglass is an active member and past president of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF) and serves on its Board of Trustees. In 2018, he was the recipient of the EMLF’s John L. McClaugherty Award. Mr. Douglass also provides counseling and litigation services to businesses, business owners, managers, directors and officers with respect to their fiduciary duties and contractual rights. He often negotiates owner buyouts and works to develop other creative solutions to resolve disagreements. He has successfully litigated disputes between business owners through trial involving allegations of mismanagement, “freeze-out,” self-dealing and other alleged improprieties.  On behalf of companies, Mr. Douglass has managed confidential internal investigations concerning the conduct of officers and employees.

Tyler Adkins

Tyler Adkins is currently Senior Vice President – Law and Assistant Secretary for Ramaco Resources based out of Lexington, Kentucky.  He has been in the practice of law for over a decade in both private practice and as an in-house attorney.  Prior to Ramaco he served as in-house counsel for Blackhawk Mining and Cleveland Cliffs Princeton Coal.  Before moving in-house, he worked in private practice in Kentucky and West Virginia, most recently for Steptoe & Johnson PLLC.  Tyler graduated from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.  He also graduated with a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Morehead State University and obtained an undergraduate degree from Northern Kentucky University.  Tyler is on the EMLF Board of Trustees.

Jamie Chapman is the Associate Counsel – Litigation for Antero Resources and Antero Midstream.  Jamie graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law with a focus in Energy Law. Prior to joining Antero, Jamie worked at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC in the Energy and Energy Litigation Departments. Jamie’s love of the oil and gas industry started when she was just a toddler and would go with her Dad to obtain leases and visit active shallow well drilling sites around West Virginia.
