Texas Students Inaugurate New Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law
The new Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law is published twice a year by students at the University of Texas School of Law, 727 East Dean Keeton Street, Austin, TX 78705, with a subscription price of $30. The journal’s primary goal is to serve as training ground for a “new generation of energy attorneys.” Its Editor-in-Chief is a 2006 EMLF Scholarship recipient, Nicholas A. Franklin, and its Advisory Board includes Professor Ernest E. Smith, who represents the University of Texas on the EMLF Board of Trustees.
Volume 1, Number 1 features an article “Interpreting Oil and Gas Instruments” by Professor David E. Pierce of Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, KS. Other articles in the first issue are “The Compression of Natural Gas: Is it Production or Post Production? Is it Deductible from Royalties? If so, How Much?” by Jeffrey C. King; and “Remedies for Defrauded Purchasers of Oil & Gas Interests Under the Securities Laws,” by Nelson S. Ebaugh.
