The new EMLF website has launched!

Go to https://emlf.org and see for yourself how the EMLF website has been revitalized.

The site features more graphics, better organization, better navigation, more search functionality and more complete member listings in the online directory.

The home page now features a series of large graphics that change automatically, providing a glimpse into the energy and mineral law industries. The extensive menu available on the home page is also available from every single page on the site; with just the click of a mouse you can easily navigate anywhere on the site – putting a wealth of information at your fingertips.

At the top of the home page – in the banner – there is a link to the online member directory as well as a log in for members for easy access to those frequently used links.

Membership directory

The revised membership directory can be searched by name, firm or state – or the first letter of a person’s last name or the first letter of a firm’s name. Listings include the member’s name, firm, email address, location, phone, fax and if available, a link to the member’s expanded information on his or her firm’s website.

White Papers

The White Papers – free to members – can be searched by keyword, author or category. And with a simple click of the mouse, papers are instantly available for members. Non-members will have the same search capability and a free preview of the first few pages of a chapter to determine if they want to purchase the white paper. Non-member orders will be filled manually, generally within the hour.

Navigation menus

There are four major menu categories: Membership, About EMLF, Programs and Publications. You can click on the main menu items for more information or just hover over the main categories and the drop down menus will appear.

Under Membership, you will find details about the EMLF, the membership directory and will be able to join the organization. Also available are past issues of the EMLF’s e-Newsletter.

About EMLF gives details about the leadership of the organization, including a searchable directory of officers, executive committee, trustees and other categories, along with links to the strategic plan and other documentation.

Under Programs, you will see a calendar of educational events with links to information about the programs, including online registration. Also available are links to past educational events that include the program brochures you might need to claim education credits, and registration lists to help re-connect with someone you met at an EMLF program. Also available are details about the EMLF’s extensive outreach to law school students through its law student scholarships and Energy Careers programs at member law schools.

Finally, the Publications category has the White Papers (for both members and the public) as well as materials for purchase from prior conferences.  The White Papers were written by speakers at the EMLF’s Annual Institutes, originally published in Energy & Mineral Law Institute, available online  from 1992 forward.  TheEnergy & Mineral Law Institute publication is a collection of chapters written by the speakers at the EMLF Annual Institutes

Registering for programs

The registration process for programs and purchases should be smoother. For EMLF members, the forms will be populated with their data (as long as it is current – and if not, it is simple to change). Registrations for multiple attendees will also be simplified.

What’s Happening

New to the site is What’s Happening – a section for member contributions (but open to public view) which will include announcements, notices, press releases and other commentary. EMLF members are welcome to submit materials (either in Word or PDF) by sending them to happening@emlf.org.

Contact the EMLF webmaster at michele@emlf.org if you have difficulties with the new website.
