Winter Workshops on Energy Law – January 25-27, 2007

The Winter Workshops on Energy Law are January 25-27 at the Lago Mar Resort and Club, 1700 South Ocean Lane, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Holly Koeppel, CFO for American Electric Power, will open the program Thursday afternoon with her perspective on the state of the energy industry, followed by Tom Crawford’s (The c2group) take on the new Congressional makeup and the implications for the energy industry.

Sessions on electric power, coal, and natural gas follow, along with a full Friday afternoon session covering climate change and CO2 issues: pending litigation; possible carbon regulation schemes; emerging legal issues related to sequestration; technical issues related to injection and storage, and use of CO2 for enhanced oil recovery. On Saturday morning there is one hour of professional ethics, legal representation issues in mine safety cases, and a panel on financing energy projects.

The program has 710 minutes of continuing legal education — approximately 14.3 CLE credits in 50-minute states and 11.9 CLE credits in 60-minute states, including 1 hour of ethics.
