Kentucky Mineral Law Conference, October 22-23, 2014

Monday, July 21, is the deadline for topic submissions for the Kentucky Mineral Law Conference, to be held October 22-23 at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington, KY.  Send your suggestions along with a brief paragraph describing the topic to sharon@emlf.org by close of business on Monday.

The planning meeting for this conference is Thursday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Lexington.  If you would like to attend, please email Sharon Daniels at sharon@emlf.org for the exact location, so we will have an accurate count for lunch. You can also obtain the call-in number to participate by phone if you are unable to attend in person.

The conference program chair this year is Tim Hagerty, Frost Brown Todd in Louisville, KY.  Amber Nisbet Hodgdon, EnerVest Operating in Charleston, WV, is the oil and gas chair, and Nick Johnson, Alpha Natural Resources, Julian, WV, is the coal chair.  In addition to coal and oil and gas, we encourage topic submissions on environmental, electric power and all energy issues, plus ethics, real property and title issues.

The October conference usually draws about 300 attendees and coincides with the last few days of the Fall Meet at Keeneland Race Track.  For that reason, hotels sell out quickly.  A block of guest rooms at the Hyatt will be held through September 30 for conference attendees.  Call the Hyatt at 800.233.1234 and identify yourself as attending the Kentucky Mineral Law Conference.
