EMLF Names New Young Professionals Committee Chairs

EMLF is proud to announce its newly appointed Young Professionals Committee Chairs, Sydney Boyd and Clayton Harkins. Sydney is the Marketing Specialist at the Pittsburgh-based John T. Boyd Company, and Clayton is an associate with Dinsmore & Shohl in Charleston, West Virginia.

Sydney Boyd is the Marketing Specialist for John T. Boyd Company (BOYD), an international mining, geological, and energy consulting firm headquartered outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her tenure, she has continued to increase the visibility of the BOYD brand through content creation, social media, e-mail campaigns, webinars, presentations, and in-person events. In addition to the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation, she is a member of the Women’s Energy Network and participates on behalf of John T. Boyd Company at the National Mining Association, America’s Power, and Pennsylvania Coal Alliance conferences/events.

Sydney graduated from the University of Kentucky (UK) with a Bachelor of Business Administration, double majoring in marketing and management. While attending UK, she worked as a teaching assistant for the marketing department and held multiple executive positions in their chapter of the American Marketing Association. Go Cats!

Clayton Harkins is an Associate at Dinsmore & Shohl in Charleston, West Virginia, who focuses his practice on commercial litigation and handles a variety of cases across industries, including banking, energy and natural resources, insurance, communications, and waste management. He represents clients in state and federal court, and is a member of the CJA Panel for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia where he represents individuals in criminal cases who are financially unable to retain counsel.

He received his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law, where he was a member of the Land Use and Sustainable Development Law Clinic, and his B.A. from Texas A&M University.
