Favorite bar or restaurant in current home city? Why? My favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh was Dinette, and it closed during the pandemic. It was in our neighborhood, and we used to take our daughter there all the time.

EMLF Involvement: I recently joined the Executive Committee last year, and also had the opportunity to chair the Annual Institute in 2021. I’ve also attended and spoken at events throughout the years.

Where did you grow up? The suburbs of Pittsburgh.

What is your area of practice? Managing the company’s litigation docket and providing counsel on litigation risks and related issues.

How did you get involved in that area of law? I initially worked on environmental litigation for energy companies and then moved into oil and gas litigation more broadly in 2010.

You have spoken at a couple of EMLF events and have been involved in EMLF committees. Has that involvement benefitted you?  If so, how? I’ve met many industry contacts through EMLF, and have also had the opportunity to connect with friends, colleagues, and mentors through EMLF and at EMLF events.

Now that some of the COVID-related restrictions on restaurants, gatherings, and travel are ending, is there anything that you have done or look forward to doing soon, that you were able to do during the shutdowns? Our Disney trip was scheduled for March 2020 and got canceled when Disney closed at the outset of Covid. It is rescheduled for this spring, and we are looking forward to it!

Is there any advice you would give to new lawyers and law students who are about to become lawyers? Take advantage of opportunities to try new work and new areas of the law.
