Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel
The host hotel for the Annual Institute is a four-star, four-diamond luxury hotel in the heart of downtown Baltimore overlooking the Inner Harbor. Reserve your room online at special rates through Friday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. via the EMLF website or call 410.547.1200 and ask for the EMLF room block. Rates are $169 per night for a standard room or $209 per night for a harbor view room.
Things To See and Do in Baltimore – From Visit Baltimore
Baltimore’s Inner Harbor has been one of the major seaports in the United States since the 1700s and has blossomed into the cultural center of Baltimore. The Inner Harbor offers more to see and do than you might imagine: Harborplace and The Gallery offer unique shopping, diverse dining and a variety of entertainment right on the picturesque waterfront.
Maryland Science Center – Let your senses and your mind wander as you experience the numerous sights and hands-on activities at the Maryland Science Center. Featuring an IMAX theater and a planetarium, it’s sure to please.
The National Aquarium houses sharks, dolphins, rays and tropical fish among the more than 16,000 creatures in naturalistic exhibits, including a walk-through rain forest, an exciting live-action dolphin show and a new Australian exhibit.
Fort McHenry
Just a water-taxi ride away, you can learn about the Battle of Baltimore and the nation’s history by visiting Fort McHenry. Did you know that nearly 200 years ago it was here at Fort McHenry that our national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, was penned by Francis Scott Key as he witnessed the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812.

Baltimore Orioles
A visit to Camden Yards is just minutes away and, if you’re a true baseball fan, be sure to see the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame exhibit and the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum. Baltimore Orioles host the Boston Red Sox, June 13-16, with afternoon games on Saturday and Sunday.
Power Plant Live!
A block away from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is Power Plant Live, a premier dining and entertainment district that features a variety of restaurants and nightclubs surrounding a common plaza. There is also outdoor seating which often features live performances.
Baltimore Museum of Art – Cone Collection
Although it is closed on Monday and Tuesday, if you arrive over the weekend be sure to visit this splendid museum, which houses the Cone Collection, the world’s largest collection of works by Matisse, including 42 oil paintings. The collection also includes masterpieces by Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Pablo Picasso, and Vincent van Gogh. Open until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
