Annual Institute Co-Chair Alexandria Lay is a Member in the Charleston, West Virginia office of Steptoe and Johnson PLLC. Alex represents energy companies and utilities in transactional matters and serves as Assistant Practice Group Leader of the Energy and Natural Resources Department, Contracts Practice Group, Co-Team Leader of the Cotenancy Team, and as a member of the ESG Team. Steptoe and Johnson’s support of EMLF goes back many decades, and Alex herself has held many roles during her time with EMLF including as a Trustee-at-Large, serving on the Nominating and Governance Committees, and serving as Young Professionals Chair.
Alex says, “I think we’ve put together an agenda covering a wide variety of topics that will be interesting and useful to both in-house attorneys and personnel and outside counsel. The challenge now is deciding which track to attend!”
Lexington, Kentucky attorney Todd Myers serves as the other Co-Chair of this year’s Annual Institute. Todd is the Associate General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Risk Management at Blackhawk Mining, where he oversees civil litigation, regulatory enforcement, insurance programs, and risk management. Todd is an EMLF Trustee-at-Large as well, and is particularly active with organization’s safety programming.
Todd says, “I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone in Charleston and enjoying the usual collegiality of an EMLF event, while soaking in the wonderful Charleston culture.”
