Kentucky Mineral Law Conference Date Change
A reminder that the Kentucky Mineral Law Conference date has been changed to October 28-30, 2009 at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington. This year the conference will begin on Wednesday afternoon with the oil and gas track, continues on Thursday with general session topics, and runs through Friday noon with the coal track. The conference is again co-sited with the annual membership meeting of the Kentucky Coal Association, whose members will join EMLF on Friday morning. With this change, additional CLE hours will be available with no price increase. There will be no concurrent sessions – all registrants can attend all sessions, Wednesday afternoon through Friday at noon.
EMLF Coal Law Short Course

The EMLF Coal Law Short Course is designed to give lawyers who are new to the practice of coal and energy law the tools to handle issues arising in both litigation and transactional settings. While the lawyer in practice 0-5 years will benefit from the Coal Law Short Course, landmen, business persons and engineers wanting a better understanding of the laws and regulation of coal will find the program invaluable.
The short course begins with a 90-minute presentation on geology and mining techniques, followed by three days (21 hours) of classroom study, and concludes with an optional mining operations tour on August 6.
