Xiran Celine Yang, a recipient of the Mary Sue Schulberg and EMLF General Fund Scholarships, is going into her third year at Southern Methodist University.
Yang thanked Professors James Coleman, Anna Mance and Monica Ehrman for their mentorship throughout her education at SMU. She plans on joining the board of the SMU Energy, Environment & Natural Resources Law Society and organizing more events on campus to encourage more people to learn about this practice area and join the society.
“My journey into energy law has greatly benefited from meaningful academic, professional, and community engagements, and I hope to give back to our community,” Yang said. “After my graduation, I hope to deepen my engagement with the community in the Texas energy industry through my opportunities in Houston. I am particularly interested in advocating for sustainable practices within the industry and encouraging diversity and inclusion within our profession.”
** The Mary Sue Schulberg Scholarship is given annually in remembrance of Mary Sue, a former president and longtime valuable member of EMLF.
