Olivia Sokos, going into her third year at West Virginia University College of Law, is a recipient of the Mary Sue Schulberg and EMLF General Fund Scholarships.

As a fifth-generation West Virginian, Sokos said she is “intimately familiar” with energy production.

“Natural resource extraction has supported economic stability, development and progress in my home,” Sokos said. “While these jobs are imperative to stability in the state and grid reliability across the country, I believe deeply in protecting the health and safety of both the people that work hard to keep their neighbors lights on and the environments that they live in.”

** The Mary Sue Schulberg Scholarship is given annually in remembrance of Mary Sue, a former president and longtime valuable member of EMLF.
