Emily Grecu, going into her third year at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, is a recipient of the EMLF General Fund Scholarship.

As an executive board member of the Pitt Law Environmental and Energy Law Society, I have met with environmental lawyers in the field and heard firsthand about the struggles of bringing awareness to pressing environmental issues and efforts to explore innovative legal solutions. Additionally, my participation in the Environmental Law Clinic at Pitt Law next semester will hone my advocacy skills and deepen my understanding of the practical challenges facing stakeholders in this field.

“As a passionate advocate for sustainable development and environmental conservation, my interest in energy, mineral, and natural resources law is deeply rooted in the recognition of their critical importance to our society and the planet,” Grecu said. “The future health of our planet is dependent on whether or not we take action to preserve the natural spaces we have left or turn the other way and watch as our environment continues to decline.”
